******Chapter 2******
Sure enough the next day I was grounded for two months, and struck washing dishes until my hands turned into wrinkle dried up prunes. I wasn't even allowed to mention a party, let along go to one. It turned out my cheesy excuse about how Sam's car got stolen didn't work. I can tell by the way he stared at me through those piercing eyes, that he could see through my lie and he was not pleased at all. I kind of felt bad about it, because I never ever lied to him before and from that day on, I knew it would take years to regain back his trust. The phone started to ring, I didn't want to answer it, I knew it was Sam. In fact, I figure that whatever she had to say wasn't worth hearing. I can just picture her right now tuck in comfortable in her bed, while her mom pampered her with asprin and good hot food. Just thinking about it made me even more mad that she get to live in luxury while I suffered slaving over dirty pots and pans with " who's know's what stuck to the side of them." Some brown flaky stuff was got caught inbetween my fingers. I examined it, it sure didn't look like last nights dinner to me. It as if it had tooken a new course of direction. "Sid," Mark shouted from the living room. " What," " Telephone." To be continued........................................ Last edited by Hiptothemix : 11-03-2006 at 12:40 AM. |

" Sam I'm really not in the mood to talk right now,"
" It's not Sam," the voice from the reciever says. "Jake," I said astonished. "How did you get my number." "Out of the phone book." "But why would you go thr......" he cuts me off. "Sid I really need to meet with you it's important, I'll be there in a few seconds to pick you up," he saids quickly before hanging up the phone. What in the world did he want to speak with me for, I thought to myself. His voice sound worried, which made no sense to me at all. Besides how was I going to get out of house chores long enough to talk to him. I look around for some kind of idea. Then it came to me grandma's mail was sent to our address on mistake, she might me needing it. "Dad, do you mind if I run over to grandma's to take her her mail" "Don't try to trick me Sid, if I even see you anywhere besides taking grandma her mail. I'll put you on house arrest. You'll be home school for now on." he said in his matter of fact voice. That was a close one. I grab coat and grandma's mail and went out of the door. Jake's car was park in front waiting. "What took you so long," "Well you have some nerve don't you, I'm practically risking my but for you." "Sorry," he saids in a softer tone. I was starting to think it was a mistake to be out here, but before I could make up my mind rather to turn back or not, we pull off. "So what did you want me for," I asked to break the Silence. " I want to so you something," he saids pulling into the parking lot of a vacant warehouse. It started to give me the spooks. The night was getting near and dark cloudes started to cover the sky hovering over its rough. There was a brief chill that ran up my spine given me gosebumps all the way down my arm. We went in. Just as I spected there was no one there. It was completely deserted and the ceiling top 10 feet over my head. Cake to the walls was dust and old cob webs. There was little like only enough to make out figures of old car parts. I figure it must have been a place where autombile shops stored there cars. Then something start wiggling by my foot, I look down to see what it was, I screamed and ran into Jake who was right behind me.

" It's only a mouse," he says. I grab his hand to steady myself. They were cold and ruff. He then dragged me into a small room set to the side that I hadn't notice before. The smell of dirty rag lingered in the air it was pitched dark. I couldn't make out a thing. When the room was alight, everything came into view. Straight in front of me there was a unoccupied desk abanded and collecting dust. Behind the desk was a window. The shades were blackened with filth. On the right of me was empty boxes stack to the ceiling. This must have been and office, but why would an office be in a werehouse I wondered. Before giving it must thought, my eyes were immediately drawn to a large black lump in the corner. Whatever it was, was very must alive. Frightening as I was, I could not move. All I could do was watch as jake summon the body towards me. What happened next, I could not say. All I know is that I could feel myself running out of the warehouse. The only thing in my mind was to get as far away as possible. I must have been running for miles when I reach my grandma's. I was in such a disarray when she answered the door. There was hardly any air left in me. My body was cake in sweat like a rubber glove. Then everything went black.

When I woke up , I was laying on my grandma's couch. My father was standing right above me. My insides started to cave in, it felt as if they where being sucked by a vacuum cleaner. "Please of all days, not again," I said to myself waiting for my father to sentence me life imprisioned in our American home.
"Well, your awake, How is my little girl doing." These were the first words that he said to me. His voice was soft and actually comforting. Was he just smiling at me? I must be in a dream or this is some kind of trick. " I fine," I said. "You gave your grandma quite a fright, passing out in her doorway." he continues to smile. Then he bend down and place his hand on my forehead. " Wow Siddy, your head is hotter than a sizzingly skillet. Maybe it's best if you stay here into your well enough to go home. " There's nothing wrong with me I feel perfectly fine." I tried to get up, but he held me down with his hand. They were cold he must have only been here for a few minutes. "That fever must be making her dellusional as well," said grandma. She seemed really worried. Yet I still didn't feel like anything was wrong with me. Was I truly dellusional? While my father went away to talk to grandma, I bent over to check the time. It was 4:30. " No, that can't be right," I said to myself. "There must be some mistake". I than turned on the television, sure enough it was 4:30. I left the house with Jake at 4. We were by the warehouse for nearly 2 hrs. There's no way I could have made it to grandma's house in 30 minutes prior to the time I left. Something suspicious was going on and it was starting to creep me out. |

" Hey sweet pea, I made you some soup," my grandma saids, bringing a steaming hot bowl of soup my way. It was chicken noodle, but instead of the can there were big chunks of chicken breast and noodles in a creamy home made chicken broth. It all smell good, but I really wasn't in the mood to eat. Yet I took a few bites, show that I appreciated her effort. The warmth of it sent a surge of heat down my body. By this my father was gone. I decided to turn back on the T.V. "Hanna Motana" was on. My friends tease me about watching it all the time, but I just can't help it. Today's episode is about her crush on her new celebrity classmate. Of course in the end when she goes to tell him that she likes him, he's with another girl, but of course sometimes you can't have it all and even I know how that goes. Infact I remember feeling very embarrassed and locking myself in the girl's bathroom stall to cry my eyes out. I continue to turn the channel. There seems to be nothing else that caught my interest. I cut the T.V off, my head was starting to get a headache anyway and it was getting late.

Soon I started to dream. I dreamed that I was following Jake into the warehouse. He was leading me to the a door. There was a big black than moving in the corner. It was a person. I sensed it was someone I knew, but before I could figure out who it was, I woke up. It was daylight outside.

**********************Chapter 3****************************
It was early outside and grandma was probably still asleep in her bed. I decided to write a letter to letter to Kan, a friend of my who moved overseas to Switzerland a year ago. I figured that maybe he would understand whats going on with me more than I can.
Dear Kan,
I how is switzerland. I heard it was nice and peaceful up there doing the winter. Though the reason why I'm writting this letter is because some strange things have been going on lately. Time seems to be slowing down and I have a massive fever that I can't feel. I don't even feel queasy or sick, or like I've got a massive headache. There's this weird guy name Jake who took me to this warehouse, someone else was in there but I have a feeling that they might have something to do with all of this but I don't really know what it is and I can't put a finger to it. |

A couple of hours later I heard the shower running in the bathroom, grandma must have woken up. I fold the later and put in the envelope and than went into the kitchen to get me some hot chocolate. It was terribly cold and I a was afraid my feet might go numb. I sat at the table sipping my hot chocolate by the window.
"Feeling better already," she said. I hadn't notice her walk in for I was deeply indulged in the scenery outside. If the temperature drops any lower, we might have a chance for snow, but as of now I'm not getting my hopes up. It's still way to early for snow. Infact the weather can't make up its mind about rather it wants to stay in summer, go straight to fall. "It's pretty cold out there," I finally spoke. I was still swivering alittle but not as bad as when I woke up. " Yes it is pretty niffy." She went to the stove to put on some bacon and than she started scambling the eggs. It seem so strangely peaceful to me watching her beat the eggs in a clear glass bowl into it look like it could be orange juice instead of raw eggs. Everything seem so homely and comfortable. The smell of the salty bacon fragance the house and left in sitting in traquility as if I was in some kind of fairly land. I suddenly realize how much I had miss grandma and how relaxing visiting her could be. It seems like ages since our last visit even though it was only last weekend. She brung the plate of bacon and eggs to the table and we started to grab in. " So how has school life been for you sweetie, your father told me about your little late arrival from a party?" I try to come up with an answer for this, but I really didn't feel like explaining all the details to her, I starting to enjoy this morning and I didn't want it to ruin by old memories, I'm going to get enough of that when I go back home. I figured I would go with the usually sho answer. " Oh, I don't know it was just a mistake made only by being careless and adolescent." This seemed to satisfied her. " Oh well don't let it happen again dear, your father was terribly worried." " I know grandmother, I promise I'll be more responsible," and that was the end of it. We continue to eat in silence and grandma turned the tape player on. It was Greensleeves by Mozart my favorite piece that he has ever done. I than close my eyes and let the melody float within me. Some how it gave me a foreign gypsy feel. I vision I was a wondering gypsy in a busy market place wearing a short black and red sparkle dress that hug me close and flare out right above my knees. I had little symbols in each of my hands ( I don't know what the real name is for them), but I was clattering them around as I danced around in the crowed city swarming with people. I caught everyones attensions even the ones who dispised my mystic power for I capture them with evey step and click of my symbols. They watched in awe for I flowed like the leaves in the wind swinging around each and everyone of them, leaving a trace of my flower scent in there nostile intoxicating them. "Sid, or you alright there honey." I didn't even realize the song went off. I must have been daydreaming. " I fine grandma, no need to worry, I think I'm just going to go lay down." I start to pick up my dishes and take them to the sink. She stop and send me right back to the couch. |
