later in the book (like 8-9 years later) it mentions how all the events that happened because of what happened to her intersect and fill and cover the hole she left,

pg 319-320
As i watched my family sip champagne, I thought about how their lives had trailed backward and forward from my death and then, I saw as Samuel took the daring step of kissing Lindsey in a room full of famiily, became borne aloft away from it.
These were the Lovely Bones that had grown around my absence; the connections- sometimes tenuous, sometimes made at great cost, but often magnificent- that hap happened after I was gone. And i began to see things in a way that let me hold world without me in it. The events that my death wrought were merely the bones of a body that would become whole at some unpredictable time in the future.

Defying gravity
I know you're out there
Somewhere out there

Stick It sounds good! Maybe I'll get the time/chance to see it soon =)

yeah, so does anybody know when Lovely Bones will actually hit the big-screen? I just can't see how Peter Jackson was attracted to that book...

I think might be released sometime in 2007. There hasn't been much information on the stage the project is in.

Apparently so--he's been listed as the director on many sites.

well, it kinda surprised me, but if that's what he's interested in filming, who's going to stop him? I just hope he does the book justice!
