Default When/how did you start writing?

When or how did you start writing? Was it when you met an inspiring teacher? Was it when you got your first blank notebook? etc.

It was just after I'd finished reading the first Harry Potter book. I remember it so well. We'd gone on a day trip to this beautiful place in the countryside and my parents and grandparents were boring me to death with their talk. All I'd got was a notebook and a pretty pen, so I sat and wrote the beginning of a fairytale. It was good writing (if I do say so myself) but the content was rubbish and when my grandpa asked to see it, he just laughed. Which was pretty insulting. So I didn't do anything for like, two years until I found it again and thought 'hey, that's not half bad'. I can't believe I put it off that long, cos now it's practically my life!

I really started writing a year ago, almost exactly.

My best friend was like "roleplay! roleplay!" and I couldn't resist her insistings, so I joined a text-based message board roleplay, and did that with obsession for a while. A month later, I got an idea using some of my RP characters, and that was my first real story since sixth grade.

I don't remember a specific begining. I made picture stories when I couldn't spell, then I advanced to illustrated books made out of construction paper, to embarking on novel and short story adventures with sketches to go along. I was an artistic kid.

And now I'm going to (try to) make a career out of it.

Cool Oblivion

i started writing after i heard about the guy who wrote Eragon, i thought it was really cool how he was so young and yet he wrote an awesome book. so during a boring class at school, english & science, i began writing my book Oblivion. People say that it'd make a good movie, and maybe a good book, but oh well, most of the best movies were from books right.

During English and Science, eh? I've never written in class *shifty look* It's amazing how much you can get done when you're supposed to be doing something else!

Well, I started thinking about writing the day after I had watched 'The Fellowship of the Ring' , the beginning of fifth grade. But I didn't really start writing until finishing 'Lord of the Rings', that November.
