I'm reading The Magician's Guild and I forget the author because I don't have the book with me, but nonetheless it's a pretty good fantasy book...I'm reading Huck Finn for school and bits and peices of literary critiscm books for other school projects - one on realism and one on The Crucible

I'm reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte for school. A regency book report. Then I'm reading 1776 by David McCullough, Genome by Matt Ridley and FutureShock by Alvin Toefler. I hate juggling books but I'm not having enough time to give each the individual attention it deserves. Imagine getting those stories mixed up!

I was thinking of checking 1776 out of the library. Is it good?

Im reading A History Of Britain 1, 3000BC - 1603 AD by Simon Scharma. Cos I'm a geek. No really, I love history and it shows a great perspective on the period.

haha I love history too, hence me reading 1776. And Joseph, get it, it's amazing! I never heard of McCullough before this, but after this I know I will be a hardcore fan. I think you'll like it

You really have a wide range of interests! What's Genome about? I'm a genetics student, so I might be interested.

Oh, well I want to get more into genetics so Genome was an introductory book. It's mostly about the history of genes. The book is divided such that each chapter is for a different chromosome. In that chapter he gives you a small history on how that chromosome was found, some genes and what their purpose is and how they work, but in a simplistic manner using analogies to instill a deeper understanding. It's really well-written, but seeing as how you're a genetics student it might be beneath you, to get as far as you are, you'd have to know this already.
