Annubi froze. He knew exactly who had Macit. The great Solve. He had been after one of Macit's powers. In Glenino people wern't born with powers, they bought or made them. Macit was of the few who made them, she was one of the best power makers alive. But what the people of Glenino didn't know is that Macit wasn't born in Glenino, she was born in Kaepho.

Bay closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Without Macit, they couldn't do anything. Macit hadn't told him what was wrong. His anger overpowered him. He swung around and punched the wall, pulling his knuckles away grazed and bleeding.
Kempas gave Bay a disapproving look. Seithenin starred at the paper. Suddenly, his vision went black! Then his sight was flying through Pathis at an amazing speed. Then over the Plains of Kelden, he knew there should be people but he saw none. Then he was at the rockbound coast of the Sea of Allasdine. Then he was at a rocky island where it was raining. The castle was black. Seithenin slid through the walls then through a door into a dark cell. Macit sat on a bed in the dark. Seithenin's sight returned to his body with a sharp jerk, that made him stumble backwards. He flung his left hand out to catch himself, with his right forearm across his eyes. When he regained his balance, he opened his eyes. They were all looking at him. Seithenin ignored them. Instead, he grabbed The Encyclipedia of Glenino of a shelf and started leafing through it. He stopped when he found the picture of the castle. It was called Por Im'tal. Seithenin lay the book on the table and pointed at the picture. "This is where she is." "We can't go there." Bay said firmly. "Why not?" Seithenin, Annubi, and Kempas asked in chorus. "It is gaurded by the Immortals." "What are those?" Annubi asked. Bay made a deft flick of his wrist and the book flipped to a page that had a picture of a beast that was nine feet tall, with blood red eyes, and thick matted fur. "The Immortals are called that because no being has ever killed one and they live on for ages. If you get close enough to strick one it can paralyze you. It's only fear is fire, and Por Im'tal is bereft of any light. That is why we can't." "We must." Seithenin protested. "She's the only one that can tell us what is wrong." Bay sighed. Kempas's and Annubi's looks said they agreed with Seithenin. "Fine." he huffed. "Do you still have the Farcus Saber?" Bay directed the question at Kempas. "The what?" Bay sighed again. He walked into Macit's room, reached under her matress, and drew out the flame colored Saber. Bay tossed the Saber to Annubi who caught it and buckled it on. Seithenin had put the book in a satchel and slung it over his shoulder. Bay then got out two black, hooded cloaks for the boys. Annubi and Seithenin put them on. "Why must we wear these?" Seithenin asked. "We were way to careless coming here when there was trouble." "What about me?" Kempas asked angrily. She wasn't about to be left behind. "If you leave the athoritys might suspect something, because you never leave Pathis." Bay explained. Kempas scowled. "What about you? How are you going to hide?" Annubi asked. Bay answered by changing himself into a small hawk and settling himself onto Seithenin's shoulder. The hawk on his shoulder gave a screech. Seithenin gave Bay a reproachful glance. The hawks eyes (if possible) looked apologetic. Nobody notice two boys in black cloaks, one with a saber and one with a hawk, dissapear into the morning mist.

~*~ I’ve never done one of these before and I thought I would just give it a try… ~*~
There were many people traveling that day… but not as many were traveling towards the castle. So many people were looking at them strangely wondering if they were part of the gang problems that the city had been facing. But no one really wanted to ask; for fear that the situation could turn to be much worse. “Seithenin?” Annubi asked warily. Ever since they left Macit’s building Seithenin hadn’t said anything to anyone except to himself. Annubi started to worry. Seithenin never kept so quiet unless he knew something fearful was coming. “Seithenin!?!” Seithenin turned around quickly sending Annubi a sharp glance. “What is so important that you must yell to me in the midst of a path causing people to stare at us weirdly?” asked Seithenin. “You haven’t said anything since Macit’s. What did you see? What is going on?” “It is nothing Annubi. Please don’t worry. But what I would like to know is why would those people who attacked you in the allyway attack you when Bay and I were so close to you?” Seithenin knew many ways to get Annubi side tracked. |

He looked at his captive and asked once more "do you or don't you have, or know where it is?!"
"Where what is?" his captive asked taking note of the desperate sound in his voice. "Oh no! Don’t play stupid now!" the great solve had moved but a few inches from the captives face. "WHERE IS IT? WHERE ON THIS GODFORESAKEN PLACE HAVE YOU HID IT?" Looking as smug as she could with her eyes covered, the captive answered "no need to bring god into this." She could basically hear the anger in him. "Take her from my sight! This instant!" He bellowed. "...But where, sir?" squeaked the guard who had so unfortunately chose to appear at that moment. "To the pit, you buffoon!" he turned looking at his captive, with rage beyond compare "Yes, to the pit you shall go, for no prisoner of mine has ever defied me in such a manner as you." The captive laughed insanely " To the pit for now, but you shall soon join me."

Seithenin sighed, breathing in the salt air of Seradine Cove. The port town lay just off the coast of the Allasdine Sea and, as always, was bustling with sailors and merchants.
Annubi had left Seithenin at the docks while he set out to see if they could get passge on a boat head toward the island. 'Good luck with that one.' Siethenin thought to himself pulling the Encyclipedia of Glenino from his satchel and thumbing back to the passages on Por Im'tal. The pages were starting to crease from his constant opening and closing of the book durring their three day journey to the Cove. He'd read the words over and over yet he still felt there was something he was missing. Form what he had learned, the island was almost deserted. Sailors didn't dare travel within three gildrens* of it for fear of the immortals who lived there. A fluttering of wings caught Seithenin's attention and he turned to see Bay land beside him on the dock railing. "Hey Bay. How was hunting? Catch any fish?" He took the responding screech for a yes and looked back at his book. He read the passage twice more before closing the book with a slam that caused Bay to startle in a flurry of feathers. Once the hawk had righted himself, he turned to Seithenin for an explanation utering an indignant "cree!" "Sorry Bay. I just... God this is so frustrating." He ran his fingers through his short crop of hair. "I know there's something I should be seeing here but I can't figure out what it is. And I'm worried to death about Macit. Who knows what kind of torture those immortals could be putting her through? This is taking to long. At this rate she'll be dead before we get there." "Don't say that!" Annubi's furious voice desended opon him suddenly. "Don't you ever say that, Thenin! We're gonna get her out of there, got it? Even if we have to die doing it, Macit is coming out of that place alive!" Seithenin stared at the older boy. He'd seen Annubi angry before but this was something different, something stronger then anger; a passionate fury and determination, a will unlike any other he'd seen in his friend as both Annubi and as Kieth. Seeing him like this was enough to make Seithenin forget his worries, set his jaw, and march into battle. He nodded. A moment of silence passed batween them, then... "Did you find someone who would take us to Por Im'tal?" "No. Seems everyone around here is afraid of the place." "I couldn've told you that." "Yeah, shut up. Anyways, I managed to rent a fishing boat it's small but it will get us there." Seithenin raised his eyebrows then replied, "Sounds great! Just one question: Who's going to sail it?" "Um... I was kind of hoping you knew how." "Yeah... right. We grew up together Annubi. You've done everything I've done, more actually seeing as you're older. When would I have learned to sail?" Annubi opened his mouth to reply only to shut it again when he realized he had no answer. Then he turned to the hawk. "Bay?" ______________________________ *gildrens- a system of measurment like miles, kilometers, etc... Last edited by Cierra : 03-26-2006 at 07:23 PM. |
