Prisoner of the Forest
The butterfly flittered in the distance as I walked by. I was along in the woods no food, sheltered are anything to drink. My throat and mouth were drier than paper sorched from the hot sun. It didn't make sense to me that all these trees could be out here, but provide no cooling shade at all. It was almost as if I was being baked a live in an oven. Walking along I step into a mud puddle. It was the first cool than I felt all day. I started to splashed it all over my body to cool me down. "Aaaaaaaaaahh," this is exactly what I needed I though to myself. I continue to travel. The mud started to dry up providing a shield for my aching body. I didn't want it to get dark. I was afraid of the dark especially in a forest with strange aninmals and bugs that move through the night with x-ray vision that could spot anything from miles away. Then suddenly I started to hear someting in the sky. It was a plane. Oh what a joyous day it was. I ran tying to catch. I waved my hands in the air ferociously and started screaming as hard as I could. I kept running. I didn't know where I was going, all I knew is that I needed to get out I needed to get away from this place for good. As I ran fallen branches started to poke me in my foot and my arms were being pierce by the nearby trees that I brushed passed. I could feel there sharp pain spreading through my body, but I was determined not to stop. Not now. Suddenly I came to a clearing the plane was gone and I fell down to the ground thinking all hope was lost and that I was going to rot here are bleed to death. Either way my death would surely be slow and agonizing.
"hello," I heard a voice. I didn't know where it was coming from. I look around but saw nothing. It must have been a voice in my head. I must be going crazy.
"hello," it said again alittle louder but in a sweet angelic tone, there must be a women near by. I looked up again, she was coming towards me, I don't know why I didn't see her when she first called, but here she was.
"hello do you need help, I can get you a ambulance,"she said in a friendly sort of way. She was wearing a plain T-shirt and blue jeans. I studied her face she wasn't the beautiful type, but she wasn't ulgy either. She seem alittle pale, but the reddish color of her hair gave her alittle tone. I started to raise up towards her, but quickly fell back down. She grasp as if frightened and ran away. About a half hour later the ambulance rode up. I passed out knowing that everything would be okay. I was finally set free from my foresty prison.
Please tell me what you think of my story. I decided to stay up late writing to celebrate nanowrimo at our school. Its where people in the creative writing club camp out all night at our school's library trying to get 50,000 words type which is basically the length of a novel. They get whole month to type it, but they get to spend one whole night at the library together to share ideas. I didn't get to go this year, but last year sadly I only got in a 1,000 words.
