I have read this really great book its called Eragon and its by Christopher Paolini. Has anyone else read it? And has anyone read Eldest CP's newest book if you have tell me! tell me! tell me before I die in anticipation! I am 193rd place at my library to get it and I will probably die of frustration before then and if I don't I will probably get it for Christmas and then I will be like first in line to get it.

I volunteer at the library and that is a really hot item. I have never read the books, but it is amazing that a 15 year old could have such success.

Paolini is not 15. He was 19 when he published Eragon, I'm pretty sure, but you could prove me wrong.

In my opinion Eragon was good. It did have some weak spots but others were so good that the made up for it.

When I got sick my boyfriend lent me his copy of Eldest but his mom was in the middle of reading it so I gave it back without finishing not to be rude. I got through a good 1/3 of the book though, and I hate it. It's not Eragon. It's so fast-paced that it's just ridiculous, things keep happening boom-boom-boom, the plot develops so fast that events [like deaths of important characters, hint hint] seem irrelevant. It should be an intense book but it's very poorly written in my opinion. Also it's becoming more political and less action but Eragon is going to Ellesmera, I can't wait to get my hands on another copy to finish.

I think Paolini was 15 when he started Eragon and 19 when the book went to print...both ages were in there somewhere.

I liked Eragon immensely when I read it the first time around, and I liked it again when I re-read it this summer. The dialogue got on my nerves, though...that's the one problem with fantasy, is that sometimes the dialogue can degrade what's an otherwise well written story. Even more formal characters and people from a more 'old-fashioned' land would have less wooden speech than you see in some books like this.

I've yet to read Eldest. Even if it's not so well written I want to see where the series ends up.

I thought Eragon was really good! Sure, it had some flaws and his style isn't wuite developed yet, but it was an excellent read. I couldn't put it down, and I'm a fairly harsh critic who's very well read. I wish Eldest would come out in paperback, I can't afford hardbacks and my library is rubbish.
I think he did really well to get published as a young writer, I hope I get the same luck!

Paolini, published Eragon when he was 19, he got Eldest published when he was 21. So it took him 3 years to write a 700 and some pages. Thats quick in mr opinion.

CP was 15 when he started writing Eragon but he rewrote it three time and three years later when he was 18-19 years old he published it

what do you guys think will happen in the 3rd book. i'm hoping something good will come out of Nasauda being head of the Varden. I'm really counting on her, and i'm also hoping something good comes out of Elda... omg i love Elda. I want to see a whole section on her. but what else are you guys looking forward to in the 3rd book!?!

What is the series about? I've picked it up in a couple of bookstores and flipped through the pages but I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to fork over the money in case the book wasn't very good. I was trying to figure out if it was meant for kids. But Harry Potter was marketed for kids and its not really a children's series anymore.

I think it's more for children than Harry Potter is, but it's a great read for anyone I think. Definitely worth the money! (and I'm a miser
