Does anyone have a favorite author? Mine is Laurie Halse Anderson who wrote Speak and Catalyst, two awsome books.

I lik many authors. My favorite author would be Charles Dickens. My favorite works of his are: Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, and David Copperfield.

Laurie Halse Anderson is an amazing writer. Have you read anything other than Speak and Catalyst? [FYI: I preferred the latter] She just came out with this new book, I think it was called prom, or something close to that and it's just ... Well I don't know, I particularly did not like it. It was such a deference from her usual dark, cynical style. That was what made her unique and why I loved her stories.

I haven't had a chance to read prom but i did read Fever"date which currently escapes my memory" and it was pretty good. I like Catalyst the best too. When the little boy dies at the end I actually cried!

Fever 1973 I think.

Man, I really loved her books. Don't read Prom unless you think you can handle author-induced-heartbreak.

Dude, I cry at the drops of hats. I probably cried then too. What sucks the most is, I lent that book to a friend, and she never gave it back! I need to obtain another copy. All I remember now is the ending and a scene that involved Cheetos.

Unfortunantly, I haven't. I have seen the movie, but I have not read the book. Do you know how close the storyline of the movie is to the storyline of the book?

There extremly similar. If you liked the movie you will most likely like the book.
