Read First Before Posting :)

Hey Guys,

Right now we don't have anyone that regularly reads the posts and takes care of inappropriate ones. I just deleted a post that I felt was far beyond editing.

While I'm all for general chit chat, you must remember that this web site is for people from the ages between 13+, and some members don't want to read about more mature and sometimes inappropriate topics.

If you wouldn't feel comfortable standing up in your class and saying something, it would be a good idea not to post it on the forum.

If you notice a post that violates our guidelines, please report the post and we'll take care of it. Click the button on a post, type a brief message, and then we'll look into the issue.

Thanks for everyones understanding, and I look forward to a vibrant discussion community :)

What topics are exactly off bounds?

I hope I haven't broken some rule. Just concerned. I'm nearly 18 so perhaps in a way some topics I might find normal talking about would be too mature for 13 year olds. i hope that's okay.

Don't worry, as matt said, this teenlit, not prison. If you break a rule a couple of times we will give you warnings. Remember WE CAN EDIT. So don't worry. If you have a specific problems with any topics pm me or Matt.

So what kind of violence is off limits?

~swissmochafudge~ 05-08-2006 01:44 PM

Yeah. Is there a rule list around? Is swearing offlimits? I mean..when it is neccesary...not just blurting out obscenities or anything. And obviously no degrading racism, sexist, stuff..

JEM 05-08-2006 10:56 PM

At TeenLit, we want people to be able to express themselves in their writing. This means that if you think that violence/language/other vulgarities in your writing are not an attack against any particular group/person. We don't want to take down every post that has a bad word in it. Use your judgement. If we have a problem with a post, we will let you post.

Have fun sharing your writing!
