oooooh...so does that mean the guys dead?

Which guy? James? James and his family are not dead, they were born in the afterlife, like several other people who are supposed to "take care" of the afterlife so the deceased can live in Paradise. And of course they all screwed it up.

Could you explain that somehow in the story (maybe you are going to later in the story), but I didn't know that while I was reading the story.

I was, it was actually coming up that James explains all of this to a newly deceased person.
