Someone Like You

A few weeks ago, I read Someone Like You by Sarah Dessen. It's about a girl named Halley who stands in the shadow of her friend Scarlet. Whenever something bad happened to Halley, Scarlet was there to make it better. And everyone respected her for that. In the beginning while Halley was at summer camp, Scarlet called her and told her that their friend Michael had died. So Halley went home and they both went to the funeral along with some of their classmates. After that, things got a little weird. Halley started dating this guy named Mason who only wanted to get in bed with her. Now, I don't want to spoil the ending or the rest but Scarlet tells Halley something that involves Michael and it changes everyone's opinion of Scarlet. It is a great book that teen girls should love.

It is a cute fun read, but it is also a lot more effective than many cute fun reads are. Sarah Dessen's books are usually the kind that you remember, at least a little bit.

The story didn't affect my life or anything, but I did enjoy it. It is part of a series I guess. I mean, all of her books involve a teen crisis such as pregnancy, death, and overcoming obesity. I haven't read alot of great books in my time but I really enjoyed these.
