I'm about half way through this amazing book and wanted to recomend it to anyone who likes biographys. Its written by a man who grew up in poverty in Ireland during the 30s. It can be very sad at times but because its written through the perspective of a young child there are definatly lines that will make you laugh.

Oh my god. I read this book two years ago thanks to my dad. It's one of my favorite books. It's really funny, but can you make cry at the same time. It really shows you what it was like to be alive and there's not a boring page.
I find myself quoting it all the time or thinking about it randomly. It's really one of those books you'll never forget. I

Do you know if the author has written any other books?

I don't actually, I didn't really look that far into it. I know he wrote the intro to Eats, Shoots & Leaves and that was the only other place I saw his name.

After doing a little research (keyword is little):

1. Frank McCourt is the author.
2. He also wrote: Tis: A memior andTeacher Man: a memior (coming out in November).

I dn't know what its about but I know where the title comes from. When he heard the line in the hail mary "blessed are you amongst women" he thought it was "blessed are you a monk swimming":p

That's very funny. But what does that have to do with the actual book - i mean the monk part?

That's so awesome. How many times do little kids mistake words for something else - adorable and funny at the same time :)
