GOODBYE The rain was falling hard that night In sheets it hit the car’s windowpane He pulled over, he didn’t feel quite right This argument was driving him insane

As their dispute escalated in the car He remembered the night they met And realized they had come so far The world seemed contained in the place they now set

She said “I’m not sure that I still love you” He said “How can that be?” She said “It’s just to hard” He said “What do you want from me?”

The tears began to run down her cheek And he stared into that black and cloudy sky For what seemed like forever no one dared to speak He watched her shake as her body sobbed, and he too began to cry

She broke the silence:

“I don’t wanna hurt you” He said “Then please don’t let me go” She said “I think it’s better that way” He said “But you don’t know”

She began to scream and said:

“You just don’t get it” “Well then help me understand” “I’m tired of explaining” “Have I done all I can?”

With that the once abandoned silence Crept back into this scene He began to drive again They both knew what this fight would mean

He got to her house, pulled in the driveway She got out and walked away He got out and stopped her He had one more thing to say

“I’ll always love you, you know that right?” She answered “Yes and so will I” This story had no happy ending, not that night They embraced one last time and said “Goodbye”
