Does it really matter how old a book is? If you didn't know The Giver was a rather new book, it could almost be assumed to be from the orson wells or aldous huxley era. Books don't age, people do. The Giver (Lowry?) and Number the Stars are fantastic. An incredibly new book, well, it's a couple of year old, is Youth in Revolt, by C.D. Payne. Look for it. Believe me, if you're a teenager, it would be impossible not to relate, and even if you aren't, it's still friggin' hilarious.
